International Society of Appraisers

Founded in 1979, the International Society of Appraisers (ISA) is one of the leading professional organizations dedicated to the education, credentialing, and advancement of personal property appraisers. Established to promote professionalism and consistency within the appraisal profession, the ISA has grown to include members throughout the United States and internationally who specialize in the valuation of fine art, antiques, decorative arts, jewelry, collectibles, and other tangible personal property.

The organization is recognized for its rigorous educational programs, commitment to ethical practice, and emphasis on producing credible, well-supported appraisals in accordance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). Through continuing education, peer collaboration, and specialized credentialing, the ISA has helped shape the modern personal property appraisal profession and remains a trusted resource for appraisers, collectors, attorneys, fiduciaries, museums, insurers, and government agencies.

Today, the International Society of Appraisers continues to advance appraisal excellence by fostering professional development, promoting ethical standards, and supporting appraisers in providing independent, objective valuations for a wide range of intended uses.
